How do I blur part of a video (face, license plate, screen)?
The standard technique is a masked blur layer: duplicate your clip on a track above itself, apply a strong blur effect to the top copy, then mask that copy down to just the region you want hidden — the face, plate, or screen. The sharp original shows everywhere except the masked area, which stays blurred. In EseCut, use the masking tool on the blurred duplicate and position the mask over the region.
If the subject moves, keyframe the mask's position to follow it. For sensitive content (faces of bystanders, documents, license plates in US footage), do this before posting — platforms don't blur for you.
