How-to basics

How do I crop a video online?

In a browser editor like EseCut: drop your video in, select the clip, and use the crop tool to cut away edges — or scale and reposition the clip inside a different aspect-ratio project to reframe entirely. Cropping horizontal footage into a vertical 9:16 project is the most common use, and doing it manually (choosing what stays in frame) beats any auto-crop.

When the crop would cut off something important, use the fill trick instead: place the full clip on a blurred copy of itself sized to the new ratio. You keep the whole frame visible and the result looks intentional rather than amputated.
