How do I rotate a video that's sideways?
Drop the video into an editor, select the clip, and set its rotation to 90°, 180°, or 270° until it's upright, then export. In EseCut, rotation is a slider/field on the selected clip — the fix takes seconds and the export re-encodes once, cleanly. This rescues the classic phone-shot-sideways problem.
If the footage was shot portrait but you need landscape (or vice versa), rotation alone leaves black bars. Use the reframe approach instead: put the clip in a project with your target aspect ratio, scale and crop it to fill, or use a blurred-background fill to keep the whole frame visible.
