How do I speed up just one part of a video?
Split the video at the start and end of the section, so the part you want faster is its own clip, then raise the playback rate on just that clip — 2–4x for a walking/process section, 8x+ for a timelapse feel — while the surrounding clips stay at normal speed. In EseCut: razor at both points, select the middle clip, set its speed, done.
This is the standard vlog/tutorial rhythm: normal speed for talking and key actions, fast-forward through the boring connective parts. Mute or duck the sped-up section's audio — chipmunk audio ruins the effect.
