Making content is time-consuming; repurposing it isn't. The most efficient creators film or record once and turn that single piece into a week or more of posts across every platform. Here's the system for doing it without burning out or re-editing everything from scratch.
Start with one pillar piece
A single long-form video, livestream, or podcast episode is your "pillar." It contains multiple standalone moments — tips, stories, strong opinions — each of which can become its own short clip. Watch it once and mark every clip-worthy timestamp before you edit anything.
Cut clips for each platform
- Extract 5–10 short vertical clips for Shorts, Reels, and TikTok
- Pull quotes or stills for image posts and carousels
- Reframe each clip to 9:16 and add captions
- Vary the hook on each clip so they don't feel repetitive to anyone who sees several
Adapt, don't just copy-paste
Posting the identical clip everywhere works, but tailoring slightly — a platform-native caption style, a trending sound on TikTok, a different hook on each — meaningfully improves performance. A saved edit template makes these tweaks fast instead of tedious.
Clip, reframe, and caption a whole batch from one video in a single EseCut session.
